GOD'S SOLDIERS LIFTING UP THE SHIELD OF FAITH

Today I continue on with the Spiritual Warfare thoughts from Ephesians 6 : 10-18. I take by FAITH the protection of the SHIELD OF FAITH. I count upon Your holy presence to surround me like a capsule, offering total protection from all of satan's flaming arrows. Grant me the grace to accept Your refining purpose in allowing any of satan's arrows to pass through the shield, and to even praise you for your constant presence in the storm. Help me to concentrate upon Your peace, presence and purpose and not upon the enemy's arrows. In the name of Jesus Christ , I claim the protection of the Holy Spirit to guard and shield me from the assaults of satan's (lost) kingdom. May The Holy Spirit & His Holy angels be present to intervene, divert , and thwart the strategies of satan to harm us in body , mind & spirit, including our precious families & churches . I appropriate & apprehend the victory of THE BLOOD of JESUS CHRIST and hold it against the advances of the enemy, wherever they come from within or without. Finally I leave with you verses from HEBREWS 10:35-39 ''SO DO NOT THROW AWAY YOUR CONFIDENCE, IT WILL BE RICHLY REWARDED. (keep reading these verses in your own Bible), v.38 ''BUT MY RIGHTEOUS ONE WILL LIVE BY FAITH, & IF WE SHRINK BACK I WILL NOT BE PLEASED WITH THEM ."
Stay strong dear friends in the Battle and know that you have the victory through the BLOOD OF JESUS!!!!!!!!!

MARNEY

What are you fighting for? Evil still flourishes, good people still suffer.

Who says Christianity is the only or indeed the best way towards a better world? In fact, the evidence is now in - after 2000 years, belief in God leads to more division and mistrust between people. After 2000 years, Christians are still divided into small tribes, with internal squabbles over who is more true to God's calling.

If you Christians think you have the truth here is a suggestion: have a quick meeting, decide what is correct, and present a unified message to the world. That's not too much to ask, is it? Then we can take you seriously.

David I don't know what on earth has happened in your journey, but all I can give you are the ABSOLUTES of God's WORD & what JESUS says about Himself.
1. ACTS 4:12 " THERE IS SALVATION IN ANY OTHER, FOR THERE IS NO OTHER NAME UNDER HEAVEN GIVEN AMONG MEN BY WHICH WE MUST BE SAVED ..."(that being JESUS)
2."JESUS SAID TO HIM , I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE. NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER, EXCEPT THROUGH ME. "
3. JOHN 6 : 35 "JESUS SAID to them , I AM THE BREAD OF LIFE. HE WHO COMES TO ME SHALL NEVER HUNGER & HE WHO BELIEVES IN ME SHALL NEVER THIRST ."

David why don.t you go to church today , Len & I will be at 614 (69 BOURKE St. MELBOURNE ) and actually understand what 'CHURCH ' is about (10.30am) or I am preaching at MACLEOD CORPS at 6pm this evening Munro street Macleod .
If all you can do is make snipes at the SAVIOUR of the World JESUS then at least position yourself to hear HIS WORDS and consider worshipping at A JESUS CENTRED CHURCH . As for meI am, so grateful JESUS SAVED ME & I love HIm more than my life . Blessings to you today ! MARNEY

Marney, I don't know why you ignore the 100's (is it thousands?) of other denominations.

Have you studied every major denomination and Christian grouping in the world to determine if they have a slant on truth that you may have missed?

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Christian_denominations for a staggeringly large list of Chistian "tribal groups".

When an outsider looks at this article how is she/he going to decide which, if any, group to join? Join the wrong one, and you may end up being tortued in hell for eternity.

Do you really think your expression of church is the only one or the correct one? Do you think your method of Christianity is the only one I or others should consider? If you do, you are exceedingly arrogant and ignorant.

Dear Readers,
All I can say is that I am in good company when being criticised by whoever....William Booth (co-founder of the Salvation Army) was called many things including "brazen-faced charlatan" "pious rogue", "hypocrite" on & on it went, the Disciples were all persecuted every time they talked about JESUS , & of course JESUS HIMSELF was called Beelzebub. My response to any critics is that Jesus loves you and I really bless those who feel it so necessary to pull down, retaliate with so much anger their point of you . I am just grateful that the Lord is my strength & shield. and pass onto whoever MATTHEW 1O ;16-34

Praying for all who lift up the NAME OF JESUS .... THE NAME THAT IS ABOVE EVERY OTHER NAME!

You might be sincere, on-fire-for-God, friendly, kind, generous... You might have many good attributes.

It doesn't matter how sincere you are, you might be wrong.

How does anyone know, how do you know, if you have the correct understanding of Christian truth. It can't be based on personal attributes or emotional states - we all know they are unreliable.

And so an outsider cannot make a decision to join a particular religious or faith community based merely on personal relationships with its members. Make the wrong choice and you at best waste your time, at worst end up suffering for eternity in hell.

They only way is if God speaks to people directly. The problem is, this process is often associated with mental illness.

Does that leave the mentally unhinged, dribbling fool who speaks in tongues and waves their hands around in a Hitler style salute in pentecostal church servies, the only person who God communicates with?

(Did I mention the bland, 70's style pop music that passes as music at many churches today? Why is Christian music always 30 years out of date?)

I feel very sad that you have such a critical spirit. May you receive a fresh revelation of the love of JESUS. And I also feel upset that you refer to people who want to authentically worship the Lord Jesus the way you do. I can only pray for you.

David, we meet again, same old arguments.

You do seem to have very wrong ideas about the church, I'd be interested in finding out where you have attended! I hope it's not mostly from stuff you've read on the internet - there is sooooo much twisted and perverted stuff that is on there about religion! I'd rather only know about your personal experience.

I like how you emphasised how Marney 'might be wrong'; it sounds like you can't prove her to be wrong.

The way you think people that hear God speak to them have a mental illnesses is just like joining in a conversation halfway through and getting only half the story. If you want me to explain further, I'll be happy to talk in person to demonstrate what it is you don't seem to have experienced.

It seems you have a very poor understanding of the Holy Spirit and it's critical role in a Christians life - with it speaking to us (mental illness free), leading us into the truth (hence knowing if we have the correct understanding of Christian 'truth'[being very reliable!]), and speaking in tongues (which I have to admit I've seen misused, which you seem to have witnessed also).

What sort of music do you prefer, David?

Just a point on this irrelivant topic of music, if you find the average church attenders age, it would probably be the generation that fall into the category that grew up listening to this 70's style music - you are also taking the 'average genres' of all the music played in churches too in this statement - many play old music - many play newer music too - make sure you don't over generalise. Just as different denominations suit different people, different music reaches different audiences; if they all belive Jesus died for them, they will all be saved, not depending on the music they prefer.

I remember attending church services as a child where there was no music, the congregation singing a capella. Also women remained silent during services with their heads covered. That particular congregation thought they were being true to "God's word", with no laity/minister distinction - the priesthood of all believers. Rather, church services were in the form of a gathering around the "Lord's Table" with no set order of service. They practiced communion and baptism. No pastors only an "eldership" (men only) which they believed was true to the Bible.

This particular church would have regarded the Salvos as sincere but off track.

That is another reason I ask Marney Turner if she is sure she is in the right church. Marney Turner: are you really obeying all commands of Christ, including baptism?

I don't think so. Some would therefore regard you, Marney, as a Satanic imposter filled with demonic spirit(s). Remembering Satan is highly deceitful, being able to appear as a Christian. Maybe he is operating in the Salvos today.

Satan could not appear as a Christian! You show foolish wisdom David - Christians proclaim Jesus to be the Son of God - Satan cannot!!

Anonymous said...

If "Jesus is the Son of God" is a fact, why would Satan have trouble with facts?

I've described a church which believes that

a) women should be silent during church

b) baptism is commanded by Jesus

c) there is to be no distinction between laity and ministers/pastors.

These beliefs seem to directly contradict your practice of Christianity.

Here we have two different interpretations of "God's Word".

Which is correct?

Are you Satanic or is that other church (that I described) Satanic?

These are clear and simple questions. Why do you avoid answering them without obfuscation?

Going by numbers of denominations, the Salvos look to be on the wrong side of the equation. But I'm happy to be enlightened.

The Battle Horns are blowing. Fight Soldiers fight. Fear no evil. Be willing to die for righteousness just as Jesus did. Be sure it is what Jesus would do. Praise God for the Spirit which dwells inside the flesh. Only God can control the spirit at the end of the day. Preparations the focus. Our paths are preordained. Thank you Jesus for this reality. I rest in the strength of Your might. I grow confident and becime more humble as each second passes. Knowing without God I would not be alive. I owe You Father. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve you and surrounding me with more soldiers. Let your kindom come and your will be done in my life and the life of my family and friends. Amen God Bless everyone!

It doesn't matter what denomination you are or what you consider yourself to be. Religion is not priority. What matters is that at some point in your life you accepted Jesus into your heart as your Lord and Savior. The moment this happens - your entire self is transformed. If we do not have a relationship with Jesus Christ we can never understand why people do certain things and proclaim others. The Holy Spirit is our guide. Having the Holy Spirit opens up our spiritual eyes and we see everything in another light. The word of God simply states "I am the Way the Truth and the Life No one gets to the Father but by me." So the priority is Jesus and Jesus alone.

The Devil knows exactly who he is messing with. After all, he was an archangel of God himself. He knows God's power and God's statutes - & he wants to destroy God's love. (people)

If you place your eyes upon humans and how they do things - you're going to be greatly dissapointed. If I were to constantly look to see who slips and who falls - I'd be lost. WE ARE TO FIX OUR EYES UPON THE LORD. He is the only perfect example. The rest of us are just as human as you are. Yes, We're Christians. It doesn't mean we're perfect. All we are is forgiven. We're given a new slate. A brand new life. A second Chance. And because our spiritual eyes are open (due to the Holy Spirit) we know what is really going on. The Spirit of the Lord helps to discern the spiritual warfare we are fighting. The bible is a living, breathing word of God.

Real followers of Christ - are those who glorify and praise God at any given moment. They go to church only because it means spending more time with God and people who love God too. Not because it's a religious thing or because it's what you do. They live their lives in the same world everyone else does. It's full of sin, trials and problems. It's full of death and hatred. But now - They have something different from everyone else. They have a joy and a peace from God. Yes, they'll fall - they'll sin - they'll be tempted - but they'll get right back up.

& when it comes to music - once the Holy Spirit dwells within you - all you yearn to do is Praise the Lord. For saving you from death -for forgiving you - for healing you and restoring your heart. There are tons of music out there that gives glory to God. the music ranges from Hip-hop to country. Worship to Rock. And it's all for His glory.

Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. Halleluyah!

@ David ; I can relate to your confusion . However I have discovered for myself that jesus christ was not only the son of god , but he left very clear examples of how our thought process should be in order for one to reach total peace of mind .It is for you to realize that happiness is a state of mind and to feel fulfilled you have to keep yourself on the line of purity that you can feel proud of yourself .One can never find peace by becoming the very things we despise ( murderer , thieve ,liar ,cheater ,mean , cruel ) you see we can only bring with us our souls when we die , no amount of wealth or vanity can go with you ,so your main priority should be enriching the one thing that you get to hold onto ( your soul ) By conditioning your mind to become the things you are proud of and admire is the only true way to enrich your soul and strive to be truly happy . This in my opinion is to find security through faith in the almighty through examples set by Jesus christ, who committed to ultimate sacrifice to teach ,love ,brotherhood , forgiveness , kindness and righteousness .He never allowed the injustice done to him to take away the love he has for us humans . After all what is the point in existing without feeling love .David the choice is yours and no one else , choose the religion that points you in the direction that points you in the direction to finding peace , happiness and security of the protection of our souls by the almighty god .
