It may surprise some readers to know that Jesus made "preparedness" the theme of His later words ,prior to the crucifixion.Take a read from the whole chapter of MATTHEW 24 ,worthy of prayerful serious contemplation. You see if I was thinking of last words maybe I would have spoken about topics like :unconditional love, forgiveness , others , committment , and possibly many more . What would you say to people who were called & mandated to spread the Good News of the Gospel if you were about to go to the cross............................?
Jesus preached a potent , sobering sermon in Matt 24.... He preached on being ready constantly for HEAVEN & staying out of HELL . It probably was as unpopular then as it is now ,however, He did not waver or hold back from these sobering , eternal words. I will let The Word speak for itself : v.12 ''BECAUSE OF THE INCREASE OF WICKEDNESS, THE LOVE OF MOST WILL GROW COLD, V13 . BUT THOSE WHO STAND FIRM TO THE END WILL BE SAVED. V14 AND THIS GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD WILL BE PREACHED IN THE WHOLE WORLD AS A TESTIMONY TO ALL THE NATIONS, & THEN THE END WILL COME.''Please give your life to JESUS today and never lose the relationship He will desire to keep with you forever , because JESUS said He will return and to get ourselves ready by accepting Jesus as Lord & Saviour & stay "ready'' to meet HIM any & every day of our lives . I will leave this last text with you from Matthew 24 :27 ''FOR AS LIGHTENING THAT COMES FROM THE EAST IS VISIBLE EVEN IN THE WEST, SO WILL BE THE COMING OF THE SON OF MAN.''
Jesus loves you & it is His will that no-one should perish or go into a CHRISTLESS ETERNITY.
