PRAY FOR A HOLY SPIRIT INSPIRED COMPELLING VISION

Dear Readers ,
It seems to me that the Lord is stirring this Territory into His purposes, Len & I are currently ministering in the Western Aus. Division . There are many this side of the country who are willing to explore , discuss & be open to what Jesus has called them to . And for those who we are sharing with , OFFICERSHIP is a very tangible reality!! Quite frankly it is really refreshing to hear such passion & hunger for the LORD , & His perfect will in in their lives. Sadly as we are here I have heard yet again the wincing from other areas about the Territorial theme :". COME , CHANGE THE WORLD ....NOW."All I can encourage these folk to do is to listen to Jesus , read His words and please pray, pray that the Spirit of God will invade your mind, body & spirit with His vision for a dying world and the great need of ongoing leaders , in this Territory. Self justification , aggravation, annoyance to such a challenge suggests to me that there is a very definate work occuring in our midst , praise JESUS!!!My dear friends in this time in history in the Australian Southern Territory ;CHANGE IS INEVITABLE....GROWTH MAY BE CHAOTIC, but OBEDIENCE IS OUR CHOICE!!!!!!!!!I have absolutely no doubt that there are many who know exactly what Jesus is asking them to do , & again I would say to you ........... please 'JUST DO IT .'We have a window of opportunity to make "history " in this generation , I want to make history, not serve history (as wonderful as it is), how about you ????????????If we continue to only authorise how we will serve Jesus at this time in our journey of faith then we will be responsible to make it happen , HOWEVER, If we see , with faith what God has clearly called us to and has already authorised (in you ) , to happen then HE will accomplish His business through you .This may be challenging to you today , I can only encourage you to :'GIVE UP SMALL SPIRITUAL GOALS ' and ask The Holy Spirit for a much bigger VISION & then obey,(you have the choice , so do I ). I will leave with you two Scriptures : PROVERBS 29:18"WHERE THERE IS NO WORD FROM GOD, THE PEOPLE ARE UNCONTROLLED, WHERE THERE IS IGNORANCE OF GOD , THE PEOPLE RUN WILD.(LD)''WHERE THERE IS NO PROPHETIC REVELATION THE PEOPLE CAST OFF RESTRAINT.(NIV), WHERE THERE IS NO VISION ....VISION...THE PEOPLE PERISH"(KJV). (Jesus I pray that you would help us). And the second Word is from MATTHEW 28:19-20 (read it ) the GREAT COMMISSION( not the great option). I humbly pray that we all give up our small ambitions & COME, CHANE THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I invite responses and pray for us all that we might really , hear the voice of The Holy Spirit today!

MARNEY

Oh to be a fool for Christ!
Marney, what a huge compliment! ;o)

I want you to know that it hurts me to know that people would not want to see this world changed. They do not want to see transformation in people's lives? or justice reigning over injustice? they don't want to see God at work discipling his people - even worse still, they deny the ability of Christ's world-changing death and resurrection, his teaching and great commission!!!!
Jesus came to save the world, he didn't mean for it to stay the same, so who are we to be offended by the suggestion that this world needs changing and needs US to be involved!!!!!

love you Marney, keep fighting!

It also concerns me greatly that within our organisaiton whenever anyone dares to stand and try and change the course we have this terrible tall poppy syndrome thing happening and we have to shoot them down...

I agree with Jo how great to be a fool for Christ - I wish there were more of us in the ranks.

From one fool to another..

Blessings

Yeah, love ya Major!!

If anyone is as passionate or does as much as Marney out of a heart of love for God, and for people as much as she does, then throw the first stone!! Anyone??

What can you critisise in her life - really!! Do you even know her anon!

Yeah, what is with this tall poppy syndrome, are we really that threatened by others, are we that insecure?! We are all working for the same goal, so let's build each other up!

Keep going Marney!! March us on...

Being a fool in the sense of, "move over mr intellectual smarty pants, i have this gospel story for you", is something that a lot of Australians can relate to. It's part of my "heritage", too.

However, this post reminds me of those nutters you see preaching on street corners in the city. A little sad, and a century out of place.

But why not face reality? The reality of the rapidly shrinking church in Australia. The reality of the irrelevance of old stories and myths to stir passion in most people.

The gospel story is now unintelligable mumbo-jumbo for most people.

Simon Mapleback said...

Even if the church in Australia is shrinking - is the size of Heaven shrinking? Is the amount of people entering Heaven shrinking - from my experience - NO! So the relevance of your comment... it doesn't matter really.

You think that the 'irrelevant' old stories that stir the passion in most people, you should hear some of the new stories!!

In relation to the gospel being unintelligable mumbo-jumbo (you speak African?)... I never want to be in the majority, and I'm sure the majority of my freinds being in the minority are happy being the 'unintelligable' few!!

This is good stuff!

(PS - You started your own blog yet David??)

David, have you started your blog yet? Please let us know.

Just go to www.blogger.com

Bless ya mate.

It's an idea, Pete.

When I do start a blog, you and your endearing wife will be most welcome to comment and spout off any type of theology you like. Please pass on my regards to Jo.

I hope you've both recovered from your recent illness.

Yep! We're well David, God went further than healing the sickness! I'm not going to say what that means just yet.

The only thing that sounds nuts around here is some bizarre comments about the "James Knaggs Memorial Institute of Torture".

Thanks for the regards David, keep exploring the truth that God reveals. Don't try to psycho-analyse everything, sometimes simplistic truth is what you need.

Thats what I love about Marney, she knows the truth deep-down and wants to share the gospel in all its' simplicity and allow people to make their own decision. An uncomplicated gospel works - everyday people LIKE Jesus (some LOVE him if given half a chance).

Anyway, good to hear you're thinking about that blog, it would be a really good way for people to get to know you for YOU. Bless ya!

You know what, David, I sense so much pain in you, and I have a real sense that someone in the Army has damaged you in some way. I sense that, because 18 months ago, I spoke just like you, and thought just like you. But I praise God that He is bigger than me, bigger than my pain, bigger than the Army and bigger than the church...
May the God who loves you, the God of peace who grieves at your pain, and anger.. may He also bring you into a place of healing and release.

Marney - keep up the great work, I am who I am because you took the time to be a "fool for Christ" to me.

whats wrong with standing on street corners telling people about Jesus? A century out of place? hahaha youre no historian are you? Do you think anyone has ever liked people street preaching? No one ever has...

But why do people be crazy for Jesus? Why do people throw their lives away for Jesus? Why do they have this ridiculous theology? I wonder...

Maybe it could have something to do with the way Jesus has changed our lives. Sadly many people dont step out in faith, rather they stay on the side or criticism calling Jesus following foolish. We're not un aware of this david.

But we are aware of the reality of Jesus and that is why we are more than happy to be fruit loops for Jesus!

whats holding you back? pain? unforgiveness? self pity? lack of faith? 'intellectualism'? surely you cant be happy with how you are traveling at the moment. Guess what? We believe God can make you whole and give you hope and a purpose.

But to receive it you need to step out in faith and go a little loopy for Jesus...

How much do you want it?

To Anon(and Dave),
First of all, to be writing in your comments anonymously speaks for itself, doesn't it? For anonymous letters are only written by weak people, people who want to dampen other peoples spirits with their own negative and cynical thoughts, yet are to cowardly to even sign their own name. They are written by bitter people who have nothing better to do with their obviously lacking lives than criticise those "fools" who they're actually deeply envious of, for their courage, their spirit, their humility and their passion for life and for God. Qualities that they themselves could have with a little less self pity and a little more faith.
And David? Whatever I may be, I am proud of my parents fired up passion and devotion for God and I know that without it the church and st corners would be alot worse off. If only more people were like them than what difference it would make! Crazy passion, unconditional faith and true love for God do not have use-by dates from century to century Dave, but you do. So how about You stop wasting your time hiding behind that desk? Go and stand on that "sad" corner in the city(Russell st would be the perfect opportunity for you!)and start to make it a better place by actually serving God's will, not your own. You may even find that you have something to offer! Perhaps then you will be in a place where you have a right to comment on reality.
Until then, any cowardly, bullying or cynical comments towards my mother can be directed my way. I'm more then happy to hear from you. And I'm sure she's praying for you, so watch out!!
